Surfside

Imagine walking along the tide of a warm beach when you come across an island eatery.  The scent is unbearable and you have to step in to try their delectable seaside grilling.  Now, you aren’t on an island, but this vision is exactly what Georgetown Native Bo Blair had in mind while putting together Surfside, his newest restaurant.

The Glover Park addition takes its customers away with its island blues and tropical upper deck atmosphere. Surfside will serve a variety of grilled favorites, including fish tacos, chicken, beef, veggies, or a combination, which customers can then choose to put over rice, a salad, in a quesadilla or all the above.

Blair, who was once a delivery boy for The Georgetowner, and whose mother ran a marvelous antique shop in the 1600 block of Wisconsin Ave., also owns Smith Point bar, Rookery and Jetties Sandwich Shop. Having grown up in the area, Blair has always loved Glover Park, and has been watching the location of his newest restaurant for about five years.  When it became available, he jumped on his opportunity to start recreating.

“It’s going to be very cool when people come back to the market that was here, and see what we have done with this space” Blair said.

Blair anticipates that Surfside will be ready and open to the public within the next three weeks.

Watch for the grand opening of Surfside at 2444 Wisconsin Avenue, N.W.
