Tens of Thousands March on Tax Day (photos)
Demonstrators rallied outside the U.S. Capitol for the April 15, 2017, Tax March in Washington, D.C. The group then proceeded on Pennsylvania Avenue past the Trump International Hotel and the Internal Revenue Service building.
Tens of thousands of Americans gathered in more than 150 communities across the country on the traditional federal income tax filing deadline date to demand that President Donald Trump immediately release his full returns and come clean with the American people about his business dealings, financial entanglements and myriad conflicts of interest.
According to the event organizers: "throughout the presidential campaign, Donald Trump promised that he would release his tax returns 'later.' Then, just a few days after Trump assumed office, his top adviser, Kellyanne Conway, said that he wouldn't release his tax returns ever, because the American people 'don't care.' We're here to say that we do care about government transparency, conflicts of interest and a tax system that is unfair."
