Protesters Assemble in Front of Trump’s D.C. Hotel on Opening Morning (photos)

Protesters gathered in front of the new Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., on the morning of its opening, Sept. 12.

The Trump Organization won a 60-year lease in 2012 from the federal government to transform the 117-year-old iconic Old Post Office building at 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. NW into a luxury hotel. The Trump Organization serves as the principal holding company for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s business ventures and investments and is managed by Donald Trump and his three eldest children. (The Old Post Office Clock Tower and Observation Deck, administered by the National Park Service, will remain open to the pubic.)
