Celebrating Countess Gertrude d’Amecourt at 102
While London was toasting Queen Elizabeth II at her Diamond Jubilee, Washington celebrated as well. On June 2, Princess Selene Obolensky welcomed friends and four generations of the honoree’s family to toast Countess Gertrude d’Amecourt, who at 102 years continues to exude her well-known charm. The elegant doyenne was serenaded at the piano by John Gardecki and surrounded by admirers.

Long live Countess Gertrude d’Amecourt-- a precious jewel in our nation's capital!
I WAS GERTIE'S FORMER HAIRDRESSER,FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS AND, I MUST SAY,THAT HER CHARM AND ELEGANY MANNER WAS PART OF HER BEAUTY. WE WERE HONORED TO BE A PART OF HER FAMILY DURING SPECIAL OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS.
SHE TRULY IS "ONE IN A MILLION."

Congratulations, Gertie. Hi Suzanne.
Countess d'Amecourt, I remember at your great grandson's baby shower when I was seated next to you, I remarked that I was impressed that you were in heels. You said "but of course, heels make your legs look better". I think you were 99 years old at the time. You are always elegant, and your legs still look great.
Tres elegant and still young enough to keep us all on our toes...someone to aspire to be....Madame Gertie saved my life...love her..
