town topicsRose Park’s 8th Annual “Sunday in the Park”the georgetownerSeptember 2008![]() On Sunday, September 14th, The Friends of Rose Park will host the 8th Annual “Sunday in the Park,” a fun, free, old-fashioned day in the park for the whole family. The fun will include: a dog contest, a tennis clinic, a climbing wall, snow cones, hot dogs, a moon bounce, a balloonist, a bake sale, a giant bouncy slide, face painting, live music – everything you can dream of on a late summer day, and more! All of the fun is free, and all are invited. The festivities will take place just off P Street between 26th and 27th Streets, NW. See you in the Park! September 22 is a big day for environmentalists and proactive citizens around the world; It’s International Car Free Day! The Washington Area Byclist Association is a big part of the plans for the Washington metro area, which include prize opportunities if you pledge to go Car Free or Car Lite (carpooling and vanpooling). You can make your pledge on their website at www.waba.org. The thought behind this recent push is that we will all notice the benefits of having less cars on the roads and in our neighborhoods. An added benefit of dropping your car is that you can lost weight from your new walking or biking regimen! |
