Forlano’s Market It’s Friday night and you’re headed out to your home in the country. You’re tired from the week and your whole family is hungry, but you can’t think of what delicious family meal you can enjoy without cooking for at least an hour. Now you have an answer: stop by Forlano’s Market and pick-up your mouthwatering, locally harvested dinner and fresh baked bread for the weekend! The market sells freshly made deli sandwiches, homemade soups, fine wines, and imported beers. They are also a bakery, baking their own bread daily and a catering company, providing “meals to go” for up to 40 people. Forlano’s Market is a lifelong dream made into fruition for Nick and Molly Forlano. Nick, most recently from The Rail Stop, had a vision for a catering company that would support local shops, use locally grown farm products and provide a simply delicious alternative for “meals to go.” And that’s exactly what the delightful couple is doing now. You can taste their passion in the food and feel it in the atmosphere at the quaint market. They’re closed on Mondays for cooking classes (only $75 per person and include recipes, participation, demonstration and a taste of wine for those over 21) allowing their students to get hands-on experience or just observe as wonderful meals are created around a theme. Whether you are a local to The Plains in need of a caterer or to or a city-dweller looking for the best place to pack you a picnic for your day in the countryside, Forlano’s Market should be your first call.
