Dixie Liquors, LCC., has begun selling premium imported Costa Rican cigars at their retail liquor store outlet located in the heart of Georgetown. The cigars will be directly imported from the Vegas de Santiago factory in the Puriscal region of Costa Rica. Dixie Liquor will be the primary dealer of these fine crafted cigars in Washington DC.

Dixie Liquors LLC was recently granted a tobacco import license from the United States Department of the Treasury, Alcohol and Tobacco Trade Bureau.

The cigars are made from tobacco grown, pesticide free, in the volcanic mountains of Costa Rica.

The recently reopened Dixie Liquors is open Mon-Sat, 10-10 and located at 3429 M Street NW at the foot of Key Bridge.

Fifteen of the nation’s top designers will showcase their talents by transforming a historic house in Georgetown to benefit Children’s National Medical Center.

The Design House is a free-standing home at 3014 P Street, N.W. After being designed, the house will be open to visitors from April 19 to May 11, 2008. The house will also be featured on the Georgetown House Tour on April 26.

The residence is currently owned by Skip and Debbie Singleton, Principals of DC Living Real Estate, LLC, who are Honorary Chairs of the event. The home was originally built in 1842 as a one-story schoolhouse for boys. Later, a second story was added, and the building became a private residence. Over the past year, the house has been undergoing extensive renovations and has been totally rebuilt in preparation for the designers to come in with their final finishes and designs early this year.

All proceeds from the event, including ticket sales and corporate sponsorships, will benefit Children’s National Medical Center, a leader in the development of innovative new treatments for childhood illness and injury. Among the top pediatric hospitals in America, as ranked by both U.S. News & World Report and the prestigious Leapfrong Group, Children’s National has served the nation’s children for more than 135 years.
