businessGeorgetown Business Association ReportBy Elizabeth DegiAPRIL 2008![]() The second annual Georgetown Business Association Golf & Tennis Tournament will take place at Kenwood Country Club on May 19th. The tournament is a perfect opportunity to become involved with the Georgetown Business Association, whether you are a resident, university representative, or, most especially, part of a business. Part of our mission is to increase Georgetown businesses’ impact on local politics by creating coalitions that work to improve the business environment in Georgetown and positively affect all members of our community. The Golf & Tennis Tournament is an opportunity to deepen relationships with fellow businesses, community leaders, and residents, which will allow us to find common ground and help us work together on issues that impact all members of the Georgetown community. The tournament is also an opportunity to reach local elected officials and engage in a dialogue of what issues matter to you. The Georgetown Business Association works to bring local leaders and community members together at our events, and the tournament will be a relaxed environment to spend time with elected officials to discuss matters that are important to you. The event will begin with a light breakfast before teeing off at noon. The tennis tournament will begin at 1pm. Following both, at 5pm there will be a networking reception that will include remarks by local elected leaders. All are welcome to attend the reception, regardless of whether or not you participate in the tournament. Sponsorships are also still available. This is the perfect way for your business or organization to reach some of the most prominent members of our community as well as local elected officials.
